Results of the meeting of TC 274 "Fire Safety"

On the 27th of April, a regular meeting of the TC 274 Technical Committee for Standardization was held at VNIIPO, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia. Anatoly Suprunovsky, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry and Chief State Inspector for Fire Supervision, chaired the meeting. Vladimir Alexandrovich Tarasenko, CEO of Kalancha, attended the meeting as a representative.

The meeting focused on key issues regarding regulatory regulations and standardization in fire safety. These included the introduction of mandatory labeling for fire-technical products such as fire automation equipment and extinguishers, as well as countering counterfeit products sold on marketplaces. Additionally, the need for improvement of existing standards and development of new documents to replace outdated requirements was discussed.

The digitalization of standardization processes and the building of cooperation with other technical committees are among the priorities for TC 274 in 2025. The committee aims to develop and approve 13 new codes of fire safety.

The change in the composition of the committee, which now includes 50 member organizations and over 100 expert organizations, has made it possible for presentations by representatives from the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, Rosstandart, and VNIIPO, as well as relevant technical committees, to identify strategic directions for the development of regulatory frameworks and systems of requirements in the field of fire safety.
